This is an exciting time for me. I’m getting ready to launch a new version of my podcast, “Every Day Conversations on Race for Every Day People.”
After much research and major headache from reading and YouTube I’ve decided on the equipment I need. We will be recording at #WeWork I have my first investor who is providing seed money and we’re making plans to raise more. Stay tuned for info on the launch of Every Day Conversations on Race
There is much to do- website just for the podcast, a marketing plan, raise more funds and figure out how to produce the technical side. This has been a dream of mine for a long time.
I’ve had my podcast on the Michelle Meow show for several months and now it’s time for me to get my own URL, check the statistics, increase subscribers and get the message about the importance of conversations about race across race.
People are more afraid of people who look different. Black people are being arrested for playing golf too slowly, Latinx people are being stopped and forced to show ID, and Asian people are still being made fun of in the media. We need to bring people together to talk, interact and understand. Not to pretend we don’t see color or treat everyone the same. My podcast Every Day Conversations on Race for Every Day People is going to grow and be heard. Let’s talk without fear and get real.
I really believe in the urgency of cross race conversations on race. No polemics just talk. I want to show everyone that we can have those conversations and that they make a difference. It will continue to be informative, humorous and insightful on a larger scale.
The racial divide in the US is the worst I’ve seen since I marched in Washington with Dr. King in 1963.
Talking about race with people who are different can be awkward but it’s necessary. People want to talk about race but their fear of saying the “wrong thing” is a big obstacle to effecting social change together.
My podcast, “Every day Conversations on Race for Every Day People” will Bridge social, economic, and political divides on a larger scale with more people listening.
It started with small local conversations that impacted people together across differences but I saw the need to transcend my immediate community and engage more people in thoughtful conversations.
Each episode has two guests of different backgrounds who share personal stories, thoughts on race along with their perspective on current social issues We follow the natural arc of conversation between friends,
In the past Guests have been 18 to 82 and we’ll have more. Immigrants, students, ex-felons, executives, hourly employees, social activists, hip-hop artists, athletes and media personalities are my target guest. It’s serious, funny, and insightful.
This is the right time. It’s simple. scalable and urgent.
Lets break barriers together. Stay tuned for the new sight and ways to subscribe.
